Anna came by to say HI

Well as you can see Nana came home and she is doing great. I swear that lady has a bazzilion lives. And evidently the Lord has something for me to learn that I have not yet picked up on!!! I am slow I guess. She came home on Thursday after a long week of ups and downs and days of for sure she was leaving us and then the next day she was walking herself down to the kitchen to visit with her friend in there. Man oh man oh man. But we are back home at her house and she is very happy to be there and Papa is happy she is there as well. So when Anna and Rachel stopped by this weekend we went to visit and took a fun picture!!!
Isn't Anna so beautiful. She is growing up so fast and is simply a delight to be with. She sings songs and laughs and runs and runs and runs. She loves the pretty flowers and she loves her chocolate milk with her grandpa. Sooooooo good to see her, it had been a little while.

She got this balloon at the grocery story and she loved it.

Look at those pretty eyes, and those beautiful nails....

She loved the flowers and loved walking down the center of them like a princess.

Here is cute Rachel. She is due in July with our first baby boy Calan. We are so excited for him to get here. It will be a wonderful summer treat to have a new baby. Doesn't she look great. Thanks for stopping by to visit girls. We love you.

Just What I Needed

After a very crazy week, that just keeps going and going and going like the eveready battery rabbit, I got an e-mail from a friend with this wonderful picture in it. It's the best medicine a mom could hope for.
Thanks Carrie!!!

Turning 50 its all in the perspective

Today I turned 50. I know it sounds like a big thing, but really this is how turning 50 changed my life.....for the better of course.
Nana got really sick on Wednesday and was throwing up blood. So we had to put her in the 24 hour care facility that Odessy Hospice has. It is a wonderful place and I knew that she would get the care that she needed. She was just fine on Tuesday and went to Ashley's softball game at the high school. But by that night and into the morning the flu had gotten her and gotten her bad.
So this morning we woke up and had Papa get ready so that we could take him to see her.
This was how I got spend my day.....
Wow was that lifechanging. Who care's about 50, try being married to someone for way longer then that and just being plain helpless in the things you can to do make it all better.
When we went to leave he was so sad, but did not want to stay either. I am so glad I was quick with the phone camera because to me this is a memory I will cherish forever.
Papa is not usually a tender person, infact quite the opposite, so seeing this moment will get me through whatever life brings I hope.
Taking care of Nana has been a difficult pleasure. If that is even a way to describe. Not always fun at all, and never convienent, but simply a pleasure to be able to serve her and dad.
So instead of big parties, or cake and ice cream, I got to spend a moment in my day watching a grumpy old man, melt into a precious son of God who just isn't quite sure what he will do without her. Life's lessons learned. Happy Birthday to me......
(We don't know how mom will come out of this, but we know whatever the outcome we have definately grown from the journey and we love her, all of us do.) It's His plan not ours so we just keep plugging through this life and sometimes we get the opportunity to
STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES
Thanks for all of your prayers and love we will keep you posted.
Hope your day was as wonderful as mine was, I wouldn't trade it for anything.... :)

Doesn't he look wonderful

Today I got to see my Jordan in the missionfield for the first time. I love that he is finally done with the MTC and CCM there and is out among the people.
Although he says he is struggling with the language I know that he will be blessed and that it will come when it needs to. He looks so happy and content. I am loving this experience with him.
Have an amazing day all of you.

My 50th birthday trip...

I chose to go to Logan, Utah. I know you wonder why, well I don't. Jacque's there and I actually think that Logan is beautiful. So I decided to go somewhere that I love to be and to relax and read and sleep and eat and shop and do whatever I wanted and it was GREAT!!! Curtis LOVES to go fly fishing. But as you can see there is snow on the ground which makes the winds in Logan really crazy cold. So he practices in their yard and it is a blast to watch.
He took a class and learned how to make his own rod and WOW he did a beautiful job.

Herb was so good to just come along and do whatever I wanted to do. We have grown to love making puzzles when we take care of his parents. We find it so relaxing.
Here is Daddy's girl. She was so good to push her life aside for us to visit. We loved every second.

At one point we got to laughing (or wheezing as my kids say I do) so hard I turned purple.

I really don't even know what started it (well I can't remember, I think it's my age!!!)
but we could not stop, for a really long time. I almost needed oxygen!!!

Curtis wouldn't look at the camera, it was so funny whatever it was!!!
You know once you start you just can't stop!
2 hours after we started here is the finished product. Not bad huh!

After Conference we went for a drive up the canyon on the way to Bear Lake.
I think this is 2nd dam and it was so pretty with all of the snow.
They have such a beautiful Tabernacle there. One of these visits I am going to park and go in.
Here is the Temple on the day we left. It has snowed all night long. So pretty.
Here it is at night. We went and did sealings on Friday Night. It was so great. I love going to the Temple and especially with my kids. We need to do that more often.
This is the Temple the night before we came home. I love all the lighting and the bare trees.
So so pretty. No wonder Jacque wanted to be sealed here.
When we got there on Thursday it was all white like this, but a couple of days later all of the snow melted and I was so sad I had not brought my camera in the car that first day. But on the night before we left it began to snow really steady and this is the tree just outside our hotel window. I just think the snow is beautiful, but I don't have to live in it.
Here is our really nice (old person) car. My cousin Andy gave us a bunch of certificates so we got it for free. Thanks so much Andy. It's the nicest care I have ever been in.
(Old people have really nice cars!!!)
Here is Herb with his new fancy tool. THE SCRAPER!!! He went out to load the car and needed to use this fancy tool that just happened to be in the back seat. It's fun to do ONCE!!!
Wouldn't want to wake up to this every morning though........
This is Jacque and Curts back yard. They call their apartments triads and in the center is this wonderful yard with a playground for kids. It really is a great space.
Right now it is where Curt fishes....he throws everything back!!!
What a wonderful time we had.
The Logan Cemetary is beautiful. It was covered in white and the trees are so pretty, so we drove through and took some really cool pictures.

We are finally leaving.....sad but true "ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END"
Thanks kids for letting us come and snow on your parade. It was a wonderful get away.
One I will not soon forget........(Well hopefully)
We Love You
And thank you Stephanie for taking over for me with Nana. You will never know how much I appreciate that. You are so good to do that for me and I know that Nana enjoyed you taking such good care of her. I really do appreciate it. Love you tons girl.
