Ouch!!!!!

Evidently at some point this week Jordan got bitten by a centipede....I know I can't stand that thought, but he said it was huge. This is a small one compared to the one he found in his bed. He said he only felt a bite not a sting so we are hoping that the poison did not get to far into his system. He was able to fall back asleep, but everything made him antsy for sure.
This is his zone at the CCM (MTC) in the Dominican Republic

Here he is with Nellie, the first person he baptized, and her friends and family.
Love the coconuts, he cracks me up!!!
He stole a ride on the John Deer at the Temple. He use to mow his Gma and Gpa's big yard with a red mower, so he was showing them what a REAL mower was like!!!
He really enjoyed being able to go to the Temple while he was in the CCM, and he really misses that now that he is out in the field, but he knows he will get there before long.
There is not doubt in my mind that he got in this bush LONG BEFORE he realized about all of the bugs in this wonderful country he gets to live in. This kid just makes me smile.
Thanks for all of the letters and support sent his way. He really does enjoy every word of it and he really does feel our prayers. Keep on praying.

A Fun Visit....

My Aunt Bonnie came to visit this past week. We had a wonderful time. Really just hanging out most of the time which was filled with old stories and tons of laughter. With her she brought some great pictures from the past. So much fun to look at and get to see my mom and her as little ones and teenagers and my ancestors. I love old pictures. So I picked a few to share. I love these.
Left: Aunt Bonnie, My Grandma Brown, My Grandpa Brown, and my Mom
I love how they use to hand color these pictures and all of them are so great.
On the left is my mom and aunt bonnie when they were little, isn't my moms smile so amazing. She still has that wonderful smile. Then on the right is them again on Easter Sunday as young adults. My grandma made their suits. My moms was all velvet and my aunts had a velvet collar and velvet cuffs. My grandmother was an amazing seemstress. I loved spending hours at her home (which was next door) sewing and sewing with her. I only wish I had a pinch of her talent. But at least I got my love for sewing and get to keep working on the talent part.
These are some of our pictures with Aunt Bonnies children. See if you can pick me out!!!!
What adorable kids.
I have such wonderful memories with my Flynn cousins. We had a great time growing up. Memories that will last a lifetime.
Thanks Aunt Bonnie for the visit and for sharing these wonderful pictures.

Girls Camp.....What Was I Thinking!!!

In the begining of June Herb and I and 6 of our favorite people headed up to Camp Lo-Mia to cook for the girls in our stake at girls camp. We met in the morning and loaded the trucks and trailers and headed up north. The pallets were all wrapped in celephane (I know that is not spelled right oh well) and we thought wow that is great. Soon we noticed that the celephane was really flapping in the wind. So we pulled over and put some duck tape on it to hold it into place. Right around Mt. Ord Herb decided that we needed to go 4 wheel driving and at 45 mph we pulled off on the only 10 foot exit off that winding road. It was quite the adventure and all happened so fast. (He's good) He had looked out the rearview mirror and could see that we were loosing our load aka the girls food........thank heaven for that little detour. So here we are reloading all of the food (a bit smashed but still with us) He was so amazing (as usual) Here are all of the fun people I got to play with all week (well work with but we had a blast)
Diana Huish (she was our marker queen), Marcy Turley (the head honcho), Marcy Burr (the life of the party), Kiley Foster (our sweet little helper), and me. Don't we look adorable!!!!

Eric Huish (Mr. Grill man), Richard Turley (Head Honcho always with a smile), Dirk Burr (always hiding from the camera), and Herbie (the quiet helper)

We worked night and day, day and night, chopping, and peeling, and washing dishes and doing the laundry at night so we could start all over early each morning. It was so much fun. We were exhausted and yet somehow had a blast. Really the kitchen is the very best place at camp to be. You work work work, and laugh laugh laugh, and sweat sweat sweat and eat eat eat, and make the best memories ever. The food was amazing and I even tried all kinds of new stuff. Thanks friends for inviting us to be your helpers. Please only invite Herb from now on!!! It really was a fun week, but I am so not a camp person. Oh well, these are great people. It could not have gone better. Thanks for a wonderful week.
